Subject: Appropriate Methods for Resolving Issues at ______________ School
It is clear that we all want what is best for (Student) and all students. Because of the difficulty in resolving issues or concerns in the past and in an effort to avoid confrontation and further problems in the future, the following steps are recommended.
- Rather than come to the school, put concerns or issues in writing. This will provide documentation for the concern and allow school personnel to address the issue without negative confrontation.
- The school will address the concern and respond in writing within a reasonable timeframe.
- If further assistance is needed, these concerns may be copied for district administration to view.
Should you wish to visit the school in person, please adhere to the following guidelines. These guidelines are suggested for all parents or guardians:
- Make an appointment.
- Come with a civil and constructive attitude that will enhance the educational process not diminish or criticize it.
- Show respect and professionalism toward all teachers, administrators, and staff members at (School).
South Sanpete School District policy GBI states that, “Because the quality of learning espoused by the Board can be carried on only in an atmosphere that is completely free from the harassment of or threat of or actual harm to students, teachers, administrators or other employees of the District engaged in the educational processes, the Board of Education insists that educational activities be free from such interferences. Furthermore, the Board will not tolerate what it deems reprehensible conduct by parents, students, or other individuals directed toward or carried out against those engaged in the district's educational activities whether occurring on school or campus property or if the acts are in any way associated with the educational functions of the district.”
