The South Sanpete Board of Education believes that discrimination has no place in public education. Schools should be open to all who wish to enjoy their benefits provided they comply with established standards of conduct. This right should not be curtailed because the student possesses characteristics which do not conform to majority patterns. The commitment to equal educational opportunity extends to all factors upon which the impairment of educational services cannot be rationally based.
The right of a student to participate fully in classroom instruction and extra-curricular activities shall not be abridged or impaired because of sex, race, religion, national origin, or for any other reason not related to his/her individual capabilities. (This list of prohibited discriminatory factors in this section is not intended to be exhaustive.)
