It shall be the duty of the school district Superintendent to prepare a school calendar providing for 180 days of instruction for students and listing the holidays and other relevant information concerning events planned for each new school year.
The Board of Education approves the school calendar in its regular March meeting and reserves the right to redesignate days when school will be held to make up for loss of school time due to disrupting events that cannot be anticipated.
Faculty representatives of the schools of the district are encouraged, through the Teachers' Association, to recommend school calendar alternatives to the Superintendent by February 5 of each year.
Citizen input on calendar matters shall also be taken into account as the Board develops the schedule for district schools.
