ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, VAPES, AND DRUGS

Possession or use of any illegal drug by students is prohibited on any school property or in any building owned or operated by the South Sanpete School District Board of Education or while representing Ephraim Middle School in an activity, or in any activity while under the supervision of Ephraim Middle School. Regardless of the student’s age, it is illegal to use, or to have in possession, alcohol, tobacco (including chewing), vapes, or illegal drugs. The first penalty for possession or use of any of the above items is a notification to parents and in school suspension until a cessation course is completed.  The second offense is a one day suspension and a referral to youth court. The third offense will be a two day suspension and a referral to juvenile court.  Violations of alcohol and/or drugs will be turned over to the local civil authorities. Violators may also be expelled or suspended from school or placed in a Home School program.  Non-tobacco snuff is not allowed on school property.  It will be dealt with as though it were a tobacco product.
