Ephraim Elementary School Community Council Meeting

MINUTES

In attendance:
Kira Cox
Bekah Ackerman

Welcome

Election of New Officers
● Jessi Gordon was elected as chair, and all members agreed
● Lori Wegener will be the Vice Chair, there were no objections

SCC Checklist/responsibilities:
PowerPoint from the state shared and reviewed:
● Over 3 billion dollars distributed.
● 101 million distributed to public schools throughout Utah
● About $150/pupil
● This is required by law that we have a SCC
● WHY? Involve families, improve education,
● School safety, digital citizenship, school-specific issues, School LAND Trust Plan
● Terms are 2 years- reviewed some of the requirements
● SCC has to have a school employee & school principal
○ Must include 6 members
○ Parents must exceed employees
● Rules of order & procedure (handout in binders)
○ They were voted on and everyone agreed. There were no objections.
● Planning & Holding Elections
● Only elected members can vote during meetings
● Reviewed Chair Responsibilities
● Plan Approval Process will be completed in March

Current Plan Review
● We can amend it at any time as long as it falls under our goals
● Our goals are always to improve academics. We have also put in there to maintain our Refocus Room
● How the plan is created:
1. Review Data
2. Determine Academic Need
 3. Create a Goal
4. Decide what you need
■ We look at Math, ELA, Science
● Reviewed Unallowable Expenses
● Goal Requirements

School Report Card 23-24
● Reviewed scores
● Reviewed Demographic Categories
