Agenda:
-Welcome: Adam Peterson
-Trust Land Plan – had committee vote on the proposal for the money generated
Total funds available to the school for 2023-24
$51,615.00
Recommendations:
3 Para educators (29 ½ hours per week): $45,000.00
Technology: $3,615.00
Professional Development: $3,000.00
-Officer Buege will be teaching a new program similar to the old DARE program, titled NOVA
It will be taught after school
-End of the year testing:
Starts April 11 – 8th grade Writing test
Asked Mrs. Echavarria what her recommendations for parents would be to get ready for testing: Get a good night’s rest, eat and don’t make vacation plans during
testing.
Schedule: April 11-14 - 8th Grade Writing Test
April 24-28 – Science Testing
May 1-5 – English Testing
May 8-12 – Math Testing

Discussed the CTE walk through at the High School (Gives students a better idea for HS
CTE classes)
The Snow College Tour at Richfield campus (gives some insight to college classes/careers
for future reference)
8th Graders need to write up a 4-year plan
CCR appointments have started for the 8th graders (transition for HS)
Past SHARP surveys have indicated a lack of community involvement which has led to:
-The Family Fun Night sponsored by the Gunnison Coalition.
-Guiding Good Choices – Parenting class
Data Project (Closing the Gap) – Working with Hispanic students to mainstream into our culture and
system
Hired Alissa Liddiard for ELL and recently hired an aide to assist
District Mental Health:
Yasmine Heywood is working with students in a Anxiety Group 3rd quarter.
Janika Broomhead will be replacing Jaylynn Olsen as a Mental Health Specialist for the district
next fall
-8th Grade end of year activity
8th grade needs help to go to Lagoon for end of year activity in place of graduation/celebration
Buses are $3.00 per mile will need 2 buses ($850.00 per bus = $1700.00)
Lagoon pass $54.00
Discussed ways PTO could assist with raising money
May 23 is the day for activity
Parents will need to assist in chaperoning (1 adult to 10 students)
-PTO
Will check to see what funds are available to assist with the Lagoon trip
SBO officers will help with popcorn sales
Teacher appreciation is coming up May 1
