Whereas the Congress of the United States in June of 1972 passed Title IX of the Education Amendments which prohibits discrimination by sex in educational programs that receive Federal money, the Board of Education of the South Sanpete School District adopts the following policy which is intended to demonstrate the District's commitment to comply with this law:

No student or employee of the South Sanpete School District shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity conducted by the District.

More specifically: The School District will treat its students without discrimination on the basis of sex in regards to access to and participation in course offerings, athletics, counseling, employment assistance, and extra curricular activities as prescribed by the Title IX regulations.

The School District will not discriminate on the basis of sex in the area of employment, including job advertising, pre-employment requirements, recruitment, compensation, fringe benefits, job classification, promotion and termination.
