  1. Welcome: Andy Bahlmann welcomed everyone to the meeting. He then turned the time over to Mr. Jones to discuss the current years use of funds.
  2. Foundational discussion was opened up concerning the use of funds for the 2017-18 Trust Lands plan. As in the last meeting, it was agreed that using the majority toward paraprofessionals, technology, and professional development was still a good idea. Mr. Jones also discussed using funds to help with the travel for educational field trips and to buy more materials for Power hour. The SCC members all agreed that these were good use of the funds. An official vote will take place during the March meeting.
  3. The SCC was informed of the National Assessment of Educational Progress test that would be given to 4th grades in February. Ephraim Elementary had been chosen to have a sampling of our fourth grade students participate in the test. The test only takes one day, and the students are evaluated in math or reading.
  4. The SCC members were also informed of the DIBELS testing and Sage Interim testing that students would be participating in during the month of January. The DIBELS evaluates reading progress in grades K-5. Students in grades 3-5 would be taking a Language Arts Sage Interim test to provide teachers middle of the year feedback on how students were progressing.
  5. SCC members were informed of the parent, teacher, and student survey that would be taking place over the next few weeks. The survey allows students, teachers, and parents the opportunity to provide feedback on how the school is doing in different areas. The survey link will be sent home, emailed out to parents, and posted on the school website. Students in grades 3-5 will take the survey during school in the computer lab.
  6. Agenda items, meeting date, time and place were discussed for the meeting on March 23rd. Next meeting will take place on March 23rdat 3:30. The main goal of the meeting will be for the council to discuss, finalize, and vote on the plan for the 2017-18 school year.
